    Default 9mm AR/AR-9 Pistol

Anyone here have a 9mm AR-15 pistol specifically the AR-9 by PSA?

I have been going back and forth for months and figure there is no time like the present however I just cannot make up my mind and hit the order button which might be a good thing I guess.

Any pro's/con's to the platform over all and what model/combination of parts are you running?

I run a 5" AR-9 from Orion Guns in PA. Been a great and accurate gun. Eats any ammo I feed it. It is a bit gassy with the can on it though. Cost was $500 for the upper.

I have a PSA AR-9 rifle that takes Glock mags. I've had it for a little more than a year. No issues with brass or steel case ammo.

No problems with Factory Glock and Magpul mags, but had some misfeeds with a cheap Korean extended mag.

I went with Glock mags over Colt mainly because of availability.

Colt mags are readily available from multiple manufactures. But some do cost more and some cost less than Glock mags. I went Colt mag block conversion because I used a lower I already owned.

    Thanks for the feedback gents.

I'm definitely going to go with a Glock 9mm set up since I am knee deep in 17,21, and 33 round mags already. Are either of you using a specific weight buffer to take recoil and eliminate bolt bounce?

I have the combo linked below (except not the blem).....

    http://palmettostatearmory.com/blem-...165447843.html

    http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-9...lower-blk.html

I had a few problems with the upper. It would shoot 12-18” groups at 25 yards with three different kinds of ammo, which I deemed unacceptable. Also wouldn’t run hollow points. Instead of dealing with PSA’s CS, I chose to get a BA 9mm barrel and reassemble. Well, I jacked up the shitty aluminum barrel nut and went with a VLTOR rail. Turned out great, runs with all ammo, very accurate, great truck gun. I’m not story telling to steer you away from PSA; I think they would have fixed me up, but I was impatient. The only thing I would have liked was a LRBHO lower.

This is my second AR9 and I like the caliber in the AR platform. I do shoot a ton more 9mm, though. I went with Glock mags because I have Glocks and having the choice of running anything from a 10 to 33 round mag. I also like the short, 5 inch BA barreled upper. Feels like a PDW Glock....

Pic below. Not sure why it’s not showing up.....

An ar pattern 9mm is just giggle inducing. I absolutely love my mpx and it was worth every stinking penny I’ve dumped into it

My PSA AR-9 is factory. I haven't added any aftermarket parts/accessories aside from Magpul sights.

Rock River 9mm buffer and standard spring for collapsible carbine stock.

Havent had an issue that wasnt mag related yet. After about 3 different mag manufactures I found the ones that worked great. From what I researched thats kinds normal for mag block conversions to be a bit mag picky.
