Default How much do you practice?

I usually spend about 3-4 hours a week shooting. I was just wondering how much time other shooters spend practicing at the range?

if there was a range open near me, it'd probably be at least 2-3 hours a week, or about 300-400 rounds a month.

Just shooting targets now, but my son and I try to get out every other week and usually shoot anywhere between 250-300 .45 rounds combined. We are shooting at varying distance between 10 and 25 yards. Hope we will maintain the effort when it gets colder however will likely curb our schedule once the snow flies.....(tough finding brass in the snow)

Typically, every weekend, rain or shine!

How many rounds is somewhat irrelevant, ever heard of quality, not quantity? What I'm trying to say is that if every shot is done with 100% concentration and your performance analyzed, you don't need to fire hundreds of rounds per session to improve your score/technique. Yes, its fun to do so, but IMHO it's not necessary.

As Lycan stated, "does dry fire count?" Yes, it does! I'm a CMP/NRA HighPower shooter. I have a little black dot on the wall of my office that I use for dry fire practice to reduce my "wobble area" when shooting in the offhand position. Then at least once a week I go to the range to fire 55 well aimed shots, which ends up being about 2 hours on the range.

Normally, once a week at the range, and I run 100rds thru.
I practice drawing from concealment, distance, shooting strong hand and weak hand.
And in addition, I try to shoot an IDPA match when I can.

haven't had the time & money to hit the range so I've just been dry firing a lot...haven't touched my gun in over a week though as I'm in NJ for work.

    LOL.

    me too.

i try to get out to the range once a week, but often it is every other week. i typically shoot for a couple hours.

i dry fire pretty much everyday for at least 15 minutes, though.

imho, the value of dry fire practice cannot possibly be overstated.

i like to get out at least once a week to practice, plus competitions and i like to shoot 1000-1250 rounds a month but time and money seem to be dwindling, so i haven't been out as much lately.
