No, I'm asking. Don't jump to conclusions. but it would be ironic. Those Thanksgiving dinners would be a riot.

I just got off the phone with a person involved with this event. She said that there are a bunch of organizations involved. One of the ones she mentioned is an Oath Keepers org. She was talking really fast so I didn't catch all of the ones she stated. She was surprised that I had only heard of it this week. It was apparently only put together 2 weeks ago in response to one of the very stupid bills being floated in HBerg now.

They have "commitments" from about 700 people. It would be nice if we have a turn-out like that.

FOAC Gun Bash on St. Patrick's Day. The House will reconvene on Mon. Apr 9, 2018 at 1:00P.M. The Senate will reconvene on
Mon. Mar 19, 2018 at 1:00P.M. Dress for success, ladies and gentlemen. Folks showing up like they are auditioning for Duck Dynasty or a SWAT team tend to draw an inordinate amount of press attention. One guy's opinion, and I could be wrong, but since there won't be any legislators there, you're drawing attention to an empty building. Could not hurt to hold this rally on a session day, and at least get in the building and talk to legislators.

I am thinking of going to this. Unfortunately I cannot make the 4/30 event so I want to get out to at least one. I hope that there will be more of them.

There are millions of law-abiding firearms owners. A few hundred thousand or more need to show up somewhere in one place some day to express their views and exercise their First Amendment rights. One problem is that most of them are hardworking contributing citizens it just isn't that easy to drop everything and go off to a rally. The leeching lefties seem to have nothing but time on their hands for this stuff and can appear at a moments' notice. One thing is certain, as anti-Constitution, anti-freedom and pro-socialist as the anti-2A crowd may be, they do know how to organize events and have the money and media connections to do it. In that regard, they are far ahead of the pro-Constitution citizens.

About 50 or so people showed up according to my informal count. The rally was outdoors on the steps, not indoors. Among that number were a couple of media types and a few non-uniformed Commonwealth employees (they had IDs hanging from tethers around their necks) who were taking multiple pictures of pretty much everyone in attendance. I guess that is for Governor Wolf's Yearbook or something? There were a lot of folks exercising their OC rights, including long guns. They had signs but no literature. The group had a bent that I would describe as Libertarian. One of the speakers was the Libertarian candidate opposing Senator Bob Casey.

The speakers and themes were what one would expect although there was more emphasis on the need to allow firearms to be part of the solution to school security, and not the knee-jerk gun ban response we are seeing across the board. Lamenting that clearly our young students are not being taught anything about the Constitution and the education leaders are stealing their civil rights heritage and the kids do not even know it. There was the urging for everyone to get involved politically and to vote out the anti-2A politicians.

I tip my hat to the organizers and to those in attendance. As dedicated as this group was, these kinds of numbers are not going to make an impact on the politicians and everything I witnessed today informs me that the great mass of firearms owners are going to have to get better organized and motivated if they want to protect their civil rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States.

Hey, you guys went - there's something to be said for that.
I can understand disappointment though, because I was amazed by the turnout (est 1,200) at the Columbus rally and proud to be a part of that large group.

This stuff takes organizing - and time - and money.
The little bit I can see online about that group suggests its a small organization. Without reaching out and advertising, and rallying others to join you, that's what happens.
The Ohio rally was a joint effort between three gun groups - someone had the sense to post the info on PAFOA Facebook which is how pennlineman learned of it and we went out.

It's interesting that nobody from that organization is a member here. This forum would have been a free, and effective tool for getting word out about the rally. As it stands, someone from the "outside" did the work for them here.
