    Default Lower age to buy

    https://www.firearmspolicy.org/support_hr_5112

Kinda goes in the whole other direction. This bill would allow for 18-20 year old's to not only buy long guns, but handguns as well under federal law.

If you can trust them to buy rifles, you can trust them with a handgun, and a carry permit.

I strongly feel we need 1 clear "you're an adult" age. Registering for selective service, being able to vote, being able to buy firearms, being able to buy alcohol, etc should all the same age. If you're not responsible enough to buy a firearm, or alcohol, you're certainly not responsible enough to make the decision to join the military (which could cost you your life) or to vote.

I agree. I'm not sure what that age is, but if we follow brain development, it's probably higher than 18. If we stick with tradition, then it should be 18.

In my view, a firearm is a firearm, regardless of barrel length. The age to purchase a pistol or rifle should be the same.

I very much agree we need one age for adulthood. Whatever age is chosen.

As I recall some time ago the voting age was 21.
