Agree with others who said there’s more to the story.

No firearms policies usually include the employer’s property, (i.e., your firearm in the trunk of your car in THEIR parking lot). All it takes is an anonymous tip to HR from a coworker, who knows about the firearm in your trunk.

According to Twitter and an alleged co-worker, her boyfriend did bring a gun into the office and threatened people. According to this co-worker, she also cried when she didn't get her way and was unteachable. Sounding like she may be a typical millennial creating drama.

No, certainly not. Large employers require the approval of HR (and often the Legal department) for terminations, (i.e., to minimize successful wrongful termination lawsuits).

Yeah...judging from the couple I read via the post above....she sounds like someone who an employer would do well to avoid.

I agree something doesn't sound right. They could be letting themselves open for a large law suit as I am sure there are many employees with permits.

An anonymous tweet claimed to have details about her workplace; that doesn't count for much. Show me the police report about her boyfriend threatening to slit someone's throat; or better yet, show me the criminal conviction.

Large employers SHOULD run everything past HR before doing anything actionable, but this is a social work agency, with the same sort of extreme Left consensus and group think found at large liberal universities; in other words, the first 20 people that you ask there will all agree that "being a gun owner poses a threat to the office". They demand a "safe space" where everybody thinks just like they do.

She could be lying, but I haven't seen any proof, or anything that's inconsistent with a bunch of snowflakes in charge of spending other people's money.

I can believe that's what happened because I have been through similar things in the past. I once left a copy of American Rifleman on my desk overnight and a day later my boss at the time who as very cool and knew I owned a lot of firearms pulled me aside and stated a complaint was put in regarding my choice in magazines and the person who put it in was frightened by me.

This was about 7 years ago and come to find out I knew the person very well as we worked together side by side for years. My boss killed the complaint with his boss since they went back many years and told the woman I was reprimanded privately and deemed not a threat nor the magazine.

I have been here almost 20 years I still read firearm related magazines and leave them out on my desk from time to time. I just split a case of 9mm with a co worker last week and I have restored several inherited firearms for a few other of my co workers but all it takes is that one asshole who watches way to much CNN to fuck it up for you and I highly doubt the big corps are going to side with the guy who legally owns a firearm when the word threat comes up.
