Default 9mm vs .45 thoughts, opinions, insight

Hey 34 year old guy from Philly here.

I remember when I turned 21 I knocked on my next door neighbors house (who was a Philadelphia Police officer) at that time. (Now in the D.E.A)

    Good guy.

I said what should my first gun be? He said glock 19.

    I got a glock 19.

Showed him next day...he said I actually meant glock 26..

I said oh well I love the way it looks and everything about it.

I don't like the 17. The 19 is just perfect. Something about it..I love the 9mm round. The long bullet thin style the different full metal jacket rounds and hollow points and just the 9mm round itself. I love it.

I still have and carry that glock.

I had and owned many .45s. I don't care for them. I sold them to my local gun shop.

What does everyone think besides 9mm ammo now with +p and +p+ and other types is just as good if not better than. 45.

    Plus cheaper.

    I also own a .357 ruger sp 101

And I wanna get a .44 magnum model 29 4 inch smith & Wesson eventually.

That will be it for my hand gun collection.

I would like to hear everyone's opinion as well. I don't think I've seen this topic discussed on here.

since you own both, ask yourself the same questions. What pistol best fits your hand the best, are you most accurate with, can you conceal the best? Break them down, size, weight, reliability and so on. I carry a G-19 everyday. It fits me best for what I do. My 1911 stays in the house 99% of the time. YMMV.

Seems like you answered your own question! Glock 19 / 9mm works well for you, no need to change it.

    Welcome to the forum.

Wasn't this settled in the Old Testament of the Bible?

Use a good defensive round and shoot until the threat is eliminated, then it doesn't matter.
