    Default Beretta PX4 sc

I never liked polymer. All my guns are wood and steel /alloy.

Today I changed my mind. I needed a small, lightweight, big(ish) bore pistol for carry when I need deep concealment.

I relented and accepted that the polymer wonder-pistols fill that role.

Here’s my first polymer wonder: Beretta PX4 subcompact .40 S&W.

It’s actually smaller than my S&W 649, and it holds twice the capacity.

I’m keeping my steel and alloy guns for sure, but I’ve accepted the advantages of polymer.

Congrats on the new purchase. I've been trying to decide between a sub compact or the compact PX4. Need to go shoot each

Apparently Beretta has not been producing the subcompacts since their move to TN. They haven’t discontinued them, they are just very hard to find right now.

I have the PX4 Subcompact in 9mm and its my every day carry gun. 13+1 with the mags that come with it. BUT you can also use the full size PX4 mags that come in capacity 17 or higher. (Also interchangeable with the CX4 carbine.)
I shot it all day for three straight days at a class last November and never got tired. (About 800 rounds)
One hint. It needs lots of lubrication or it could fail to eject.

Thanks for the hint. Where does it need the lubricant? This is my first polymer pistol, and I'm used to greasing the rails of an alloy frame, or using oil on a steel frame.

All i did after cleaning the Beretta is applied ballistol to the metal inserts, and then some grease on the barrel locking lug and where it flairs. Should I apply ballistol to the poly frame too?

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the production slow down on the subs.

I use a Graphite product called gunslick on the slide. It lasts longer than oil especially with heavy use.

I've had a slightly used Px4 SC in .40 for sale in the classifieds for a few months.

I have a PX4 9mm that is real fun to shoot..

Took me a bit to figure out the aiming, different from my other semi auto pistols. I love the chubby feel of the pistol as I have large hands and love the firm grip I can acquire.
