I am surprised to see how heavy these are for a SC. I often carry a CZ PCR that weighs 27.5 oz and the PX4 SC comes in at 26.1 oz. For a SC I would have expected lighter. Although I guess the extra weight helps with recoil some especially with the .40

It is on the heavier side for a subcompact. The barrel is a flaired bull-barrel with the same type of lockup as a Colt Defender. That adds weight. Also, it's hammer fired, and the steel slide is quite thick in areas.
I routinely carry allow and steel framed guns, so 26 ounces is lightweight for me.

I think it plays the role of being suitable for both home defense and concealment well. It's shorter than the glock 26/27.

Polymer and Steel both have their places (as well as the alloys). I love my steel 1911's and my Glocks (26 and 17). My Kel-Tec's disappear in a pocket and don't weigh down your pants (you could even clip the P-32 to your underwear waistband without it pulling them down !). It all depends on your needs that day. Congrats on a fine pistol.

The PX4 SC does not have the rotating barrel like the full size and compact.

Correct ...I have both the Compact and Sub Compact . Subcompact is in .40 and my Compact is in 9mm . Both are tack drivers but shoot differently . I do like the rotating barrel on the Compact. I wish they had the rotating barrel on the subcompact .

Yep weight helps for sure , I really like the way mine shoots I can put all ten rounds on a 12” paper plate at 25 yards , I’m not an expert marksman by any means but for me I’m happy with that accuracy out of a subcompact.

A lot of folks prefer the compact over the subcompact. I think you're going to really like it.

Make sure to use some grease on the rotary barrel.

I always thought the PX4 pistols were a bit thick for concealed carry which is the primary reason I never purchased one.
