I checked "self defense" on my app. My line of reasoning is ultimately that is what i carry for anywhere i go. I wouldnt want to check "work" or "target shooting" and then get involved in a shooting when hiking, then have someone over analyze my app down the road if that makes sense.......

It's been a while since I looked at the form, but IIRC, "self defense" was the only one of those choices that required a LTCF.

I asked the same question here before sending in mine, and the consensus was it doesn't matter, but self defense was the most defensible reason if some overzealous LEO questioned it, so that's what I put.

Don't fret about putting target shooting. And besides, if you have to use your gun for self defense, the BG would technically become your target, right?
You are a straight white man. You don't get to be the victim, sweetie.

A friend of mine who is a retired LEO from Philly, told me to mark down nothing but self-defense, or business owner if I am one. He said, atleast in Philly, if anything else is marked they would deny your application.

I had a guy at the gunsmith tell me yesterday, that if you check "sports" you can hunt with a handgun as well. I thought it was bullshit, and you need a handgun hunting permit, as well.
I'm not a Fudd but I've never heard of a handgun hunting permit. As far as I know a licensed hunter can use a non semi auto handgun to hunt. I also think that going to & from hunting, fishing & trapping places are allowed without LTCF just like a range, gunsmith or FFL are. Without LTCF,of course gun must be OCed.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
