    Default 80% lower and jig

Who is your preferred source for 80% AR-15 lowers and a jig for it?

    Getting ready...

    Thanks in advance.

I bought my lower at Oaks gun show, so no tips there.

Only jig I have experience with is from 80% Arms. I bought their tool/bit set as well. If you follow the directions (some YouTubes out there as well) it works well.

Just complete ALL steps before removing the jig. I did the fire control pocket, then took it off to clear chips and put it back on to drill the pin holes. I wound up with a couple thousandths interference between the base of the hammer and the front wall that I fixed easily with a dremel.

Looking at Thunder Tactical right now...any opinions?

I'm not ashamed to admit I like their color choices. If I build one, it's going to look fabulous, I mean awesome.

    I have the 80% arms gen 2 jig, does 15/10 & 9 builds.
A bit pricey but well built & well worth it. I can pull a lower and put it back in without any movement.
If you plan on doing a few in different caliber builds this is the only way to go.

And FYI - I plan on using a router if that dictates what kind of jig I should get.

Isn't the entire point of those lost by ordering them online with a credit card?

Check out the "Build It Yourself" section at AR15.com. I see a lot of talk about a 5D Tactical Pro jig.

Disclaimer...I know about finishing an 80% lower.

The amount of credit card transactions to sift through is way more than the amount of 4473s I suppose.

But posting on PAFOA is the most telling of all
