Yeah...after further consideration the suppressor may have to wait.
Don't really plan on reloading right off the bat either.

It'll be a carbon fiber looking range toy, I ordered the materials last night.
    The chrome was too much.

It's a process. You can find factory subsonic 300 ammo for about .50/round. Compare that to some other centerfire rifle cartridges (other than steel cased) and that's not the end of the world.

300 BLK is a reloaders dream as the combination of powders and 30 caliber bullets of weights from 90 gr up to 220 grains make this caliber fun to experiment with. I have a 16" upper and HAD a break action H&R handi (This will one day be replaced by a Ruger Bolt action. The bolt actions really increase the subsonic load options as you don't have to worry about cycling the action. However you are talking semi-auto so yes, You are probably going to want a suppressor and with that short barrel the other stamp. If you buy factory ammo certainly save your brass, I think reloading for 300 Blk is something you should consider also. You seriously might reconsider keeping that upper. 300BLK is fun but there is certainly more $ to be spent.

Interesting in that is exactly what I said about my 30-06 about 40 years ago! The variety of bullet weights and designs makes for a lot of possible combinations.

I will admit that I am a .30 cal fan boy.
I even load my .50 with sabots to get them down to .30.

Timely topic. I'm getting the stamps rolling for a 300 MCX SBR with can.

What ammo, sub and supersonic, is recommended?
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Sellier & Bellot 200 grain subsonic has been a pretty good value for factory ammo. It seems to go in and out of stock everywhere regularly. About .50/round.

Justin are you going to suppress it? That’s really the only time subsonic is worth it. Dig makes a 220 grain subsonic that is pretty cheap at times

This is what I found out too and ordered some.
I also went for the gusto and got both stamps. I knew I wouldn't be happy leaving it half done.
As gun owners were only another shooting from be crucified so best to get it now.

All depends. If you want to shoot quiet at close distances, subsonic. If you want to shoot longer distances, for accuracy or for game, supersonic. My general plinking load is a 147g FMJ bullet, supersonic, cheap and accurate.
