Re: Online purchasing
I don't doubt your experience, but mine has been different.
I have ordered ammo many times and I have never signed for it, except for stuff from CMP (if I recall correctly).
I just got an order a few weeks ago from Target Sports USA and they just left it at the door as usual.
Your experience may have other factors involved, maybe location, maybe company, maybe shipper, I don't know.
I don't know why, but my experience has been different.
On a side note, I completely agree with your warning about getting stuff shipped to your workplace. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Re: Online purchasing
I also get shipments left at my door (most recently from SG Ammo), no signature.

Re: Online purchasing
I have had ammo left on the doorstep also. Didn't like it but never had a problem with packages disappearing.

Re: Online purchasing
Only problem I ever had was years ago, when I ordered a couple cases of GP11 from Sportsman's Guide. I got an email saying they were undeliverable due to weather emergency or act of God.
I called them up, and the lady on the phone asked if I had received any part of the order. I told her yes, I got one of the cases. She said that they'd ship out the missing one asap.
After I hung up, I thought Damn!
Years ago, Ammunition Depot used to require a copy of your driver's license. I think Aim Surplus did too.

Re: Online purchasing
Last order I got from Cabellas (500fmj9) was left on the lawn near the street! I have no mailbox as I have a POBox. They usually leave stuff at front door but once in a while they (UPS) do that shit. Luckily my neighbor (shared driveway) brought it up to my door. Called UPS again to complain and again they daid they would talk to the driver. Getting tired of this crap. From the street it does look like a nasty driveway but once you come all the way up theres plenty of room to turn around. Just a lazy driver once in a while I guess.

Re: Online purchasing
Tens of thousands of rounds from different vendors and I've never had to sign for any shipments.

Re: Online purchasing
I used to use freedom munitions for a lot of my online orders but their prices keep going up I can usually find better deals on manufactured ammo. PSA always has great deals if you do not need right away. Like others have said check out ammoseek.com and gunbot.net
