Is there an online "ticker" for metals?
I have a bunch of copper wire to be recycled. I called and got the going price from a local recycler. I was told by a friend who recycles a lot that the prices are down right now.
I assume that the recycler has to base his rate on something. Is there a site I can use to see when the "market" changes? At least to give me an idea of when he might be paying more? I don't want to call daily to ask.Adams County Sport Handgunners Association - President

I know Bloomberg tv or somesuch has the "ticker".
You might want to try the "ticker" for the commodities market.
Or access the Wall Street Journal which will definitely have the prices for precious metals.
ETA: Some sources to the "market" you have to pay for. However some of the larger banks have that information available for free.Last edited by Michele; September 24th, 2008 at 02:28 PM. Reason: needed to say something else

Can't help you with the copper but for those of you that want to watch gold, silver, platinum and palladium download kitco's live ticker:
http://kcast.kitco.com/
it runs in your task bar and updates every minute (you can adjust that)

Oooops; I missed the first post.
For base metals, use the Nymex:
