Lightbulb Smith & Wesson Issue Alert On M&P 380 Shield EZs With Thumb Safety

    https://bearingarms.com/tom-k/2018/0...tm_campaign=nl

Smith & Wesson makes good guns. Its history is full of quality firearms that have served millions well. However, no one can get it right all the time, and it looks like the venerable firearms manufacturer has a problem with one of its models. In particular, the .380 M&P Shield EZ with a thumb safety.

[QUOTE][NEVER USE “PLUS-P” (+P), “PLUS-P-PLUS” (+P+); OR RELOADED AMMUNITION WITH THE M&P 380 EZ. ALWAYS USE FACTORY MANUFACTURED AMMUNITION PRODUCED TO SAAMI SPECIFICATIONS./QUOTE]

Like reloaders can't make good ammo. Hell, manufacturers are deviating from SAAMI "specs". Look up specs on your factory ammo, then compare measurements such as head diameter.

Seems like none of the Shields work on hot rounds...the original Shields were exploding from them.

This is why I prefer metal frames.

The frame doesn't contain the pressure, that's the job of the barrel and slide. Poor dwell time and shitty lock up blow up guns fed good ammo. +P+ doesn't have specs and reloads could be anything.
