A 20 year old filed a lawsuit against DICKS after being denied a purchase of a .22 rifle due to his age.

I was in Dick's this past weekend to figure out the right size bat for my son. I didn't buy anything at Dick's, I just found the right model bat and ordered it online. (BTW, is anyone else dealing with the "new bat standard" scam?)

I noticed that Dick's still sells Airsoft AR's and AR BB and pellet guns.

Kudos to him! Though I think he's wasting his money.

It seems to me after a little research, Oregon has a specific anti discrimination law that protects people from being discriminated against in the public square, meaning, if you offer anything for sale as a business, you cannot refuse to sell that item to anyone simply based on age because the law states that an adult is defined as someone age 18. Therefore, it appears Dick’s and Walmart are in violation of the anti discrimination law in Oregon. They can comply by selling to anyone 18 or older....or not selling the item at all. Bu they can’t set their own age limit. I don’t think this guy is paying anything for legal expenses but if he is.....the NRA ought to be reimbursing him.

Yes, the bat rules are insane. Basically everyone needs to buy a new bat...they're trying to make the metal bats act like wood bats to get them ready for the next level, so on top of shelling out money for new bats, our kids won't be kitting the ball as far. They're definitely heavier in the barrel.

I do the same, I'll use retail stores for fitting and order online as well.

I did the same with Gander Mountain for guns before they closed.

I guess just using wood bats would make too much sense.

Yeah...I read their BS about wood being scarce. Really? Wanna read up on the resources required to mine and process a few pounds of aluminum - and its renewability - to make a bat and compare that to the requirements for cutting down a tree and planting one in its place?

As far as cost goes, aluminum is cheaper for a team to use. A wood bat is not likely to make it through a season. Heck, it might not make it through the preseason batting practices. So you need to plan three wood bats for every aluminum one plus if they didn’t change the requirements an aluminum bat can be used for many seasons.

Wooden bats are much better for street fighting because you can put a nice little surprises inside of them.
