You can't go wrong with the classic Buck 110. Has never failed me and I don't see myself ever using any other knife for field dressing purposes.

That's funny.....I can gut a deer and eat a sandwich but give me a kid with a poopy diaper and......

For some reason, goose esophagus grossed me out the first time I cleaned one.

    I still don't understand why.

Whatever happened to "gutless deer cleaning"? Does that have so many downsides as to not be an option?

I use to hog hunt growing up in florida. I was hunting with my dad one time and he had shot a big sow. While we were field dressing it he cut it open and a bunch of fetus's came out. He looked at me and said " Ham sandwiches !". He handed one to me and told me to go wash it off in the creek. I started walking to the water with it and he busted up laughing.

That being said dad used a Buck 110 that my mom gave him on their first anniversary ( I now own it ). I use use either a pocket knife or my cheap mora. Depends on which one is the sharpest at the time.
