Question; Is there any point in contacting Bob Casey on the gun issue? ( other than the automated system that the NRA provides to automatically send letters to all the members of congress in your district) His website is littered with how he supports gun bans, magazine capacity limits, and every other gun control scheme. So is anyone else contacting his office on this issue?

    Yes.
You bring up a very common question.
Many people feel like it's pointless to call, email, and mail a known anti-gun politician.

The answer is to always contact the anti-gun politicians.
In some ways it is more important to contact the anti-gun politicians rather than the politicians that agree with us.

When a politician gets a silent reaction to anti-gun policy decisions, it is interpreted as agreement or acceptance by the citizenry.
What's worse, it can be seen as a sign that the citizenry doesn't know or care about what is going on.
These perceived perceptions then encourage anti-gun politicians to be even more aggressive with their anti-gun policies.

Politicians are people, and all people respond to pressure.
Our calls and emails and mailings to anti-gun politicians may not change their policy decisions, but they serve to put them on notice that people are watching.
The most realistic benefit for our side, is that it keeps the anti-gun politicians somewhat in check, and it keeps them from going full bananas with anti-gun legislation.

So yes, please always call, email, and mail all of your politicians, regardless of their position for or against guns.
Thank you for taking an active role in defending our gun rights.
