Only $80? You got off easy. I know it's no condolence for the fact that you're getting screwed NY style. They hate Slaters (Pennsylvanians) up/over there and I don't think they want us to visit. My experience with a speeding ticket in NY is that the officer is not required to attend the hearing, an ADA will be their mouthpiece. I was able to call the judge's office and have my hearing scheduled on a date that worked better for me than the one they wanted, when traveling to fight it that is a plus. Their ADA is willing to wheel and deal and I got my speeding ticket reduced (15 over is a major violation for a CDL driver) but the price was still the same, some $300+. Now my case was in a rural area vs the SP, if you have local yokel it could be different.

Do they only send you still photos of the violation? I got one a year ago in Philadelphia at an intersection I rarely travel through. When I saw the violation in the envelope, I said “no way”. It includes a close up of my tag and a before and after photo along with the ‘time red’ and ‘speed’ like you mention. But then there is a link for video and damn, but don’t I get to watch about three seconds of me going through a red light. $100 check off to the PPA.

Yes If I was guilty of running red light I would pay it,but turning red while halfway thru turn is B S and they are only still photos ! They also admit 3/10 of a second halfway thru turn !

They send pictures of a violation; you send pictures of your badge.

    Easy peasy, right?
