Default Riley Defense AK's Good or Not?

Has anyone had any dealings with Riley Defense (Charlotte, NC) and the AK's they build and sell. Good, bad, indifferent? I know of some folks that are looking at getting several from them and was just curious about their quality.

    Thanks.

Don't......go to AK operators Union Local 4774 and see his blog just a few days ago on these. I had wondered also if these were good to go. Seems they have real problems.

    Strait up American Garbage!

If you go back and watch his 1st unboxing video the bolt closed on a no go gauge from the start but was okay on a field gauge.

Any new out of the box firearm should gauge better than a "field gauge". Field gauge is for "combat serviceable" use. IE: good enough for handing to a trooper in a combat zone without fear it will explode after just a few rounds. Field gauge means: gonna need to replace this weapon soon.

I'm fully aware I was just filling the OP in on the details from the previous video.

I'll say it again, unless you're willing to drop near $1k or more, the new production WASR10s are a screaming deal at ~$500 - $600.

Rob has an ability to break AKs; I'm not saying he's wrong, but relying on one source is risky.

There's another YouTuber, 'Zeke Shoots' (he's also a gunsmith) that did a lot of work on the Riley AK, including hardness testing. His was gtg for 5000 rounds.

Given the nature of Rob's failure I'm tempted to say this was a QA failure. Atlantic Firearms are also surprised; they are to their credit very particular about not sellling garbage.

And once again I’m going to agree with you.

Ditto. WASR is a much better value.
