3 Gun Training Classes

Hey All, I am new to this forum and new to 3 gun. I have never participated in any matches; however would like to start competing. I was wondering if anyone had any insight on where I could maybe attend a training class and or locations of where 3 gun matches are held. I am from the Philadelphia area, and the closest place I found was actually in Salem, NJ. Any information would be great.

Not super close but Peacemaker in WV has good classes, and they run 3 gun comps. If your a learn by doing type, York Issac Walton league in Dallastown has Funshoots every month that are generally 2-3 Gun friendly and it can be a laid back way to learn some things form experienced shooters and learn as you go just ask questions. They also have 3 gun matches once you get some confidence and equipment together.

Langhorne, New Holland, York, Topton, Ontelaunee, Easton, Heidelberg ... Lots of options in the area!

Not sure on classes but get to a match and we will get ya going that's for sure!

Check the club wesites, the competition section of this forum, Practiscore (where we have to register for many of these) and the multigun section of the Brian Enos forums as they have a match announcement section

There are 2 matches I am aware of in March ... 17th @ Heidelberg (reg open on Practiscore) and then the 18th @ New Holland. That one isn't open yet and is one of 4 matches held there this season. 2 of the 4 are for the "points series" which I believe is full. The other 2 of the series are at Topton. This first match is a NON series match

There is a 3gun Basic 101 class being held at The Outdoor Sportsmens Club in Bellefonte, Pa on April 21st. http://www.oscshooting.com/events/3g...tro-class.html

They also hold monthly matches on every 3rd Sunday of the month from April-Sept.

The Heidelberg match would be especially good for someone shooting 3gun for the first time.

You should not tell someone asking for basic info on a gun event to just participate in one and "learn while doing". Even if he happened to guess what ammo, barrel length and holster/slings/carry positions were acceptable or required, he's liable to just get DQd (if not banned from the range) in the first 5 seconds.
