Florida Rejects Weapons Ban
Adults win the day in Florida.

The Florida state House on Tuesday rejected a ban on many semiautomatic guns and large capacity magazines as dozens of survivors of last week's school shooting headed to the state Capitol to turn their grief into political action.
Lawmakers voted down a motion to consider the ban during a session that opened with a prayer for the 17 people killed by a former student last Wednesday at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The vote in the Republican-dominated body was 36-71.

That is good news, there is still hope that sanity can prevail.

Re: Florida Rejects Weapons Ban
The state House will always vote down anti-gun legislation. The state Senate will always vote down (or more accurately, not allow out of committee) any pro-gun legislation. It's a sad stalemate that means we are left with our firearms laws stuck in the 1990s. It was progressive at the time, but it's lagging way behind now. No open carry, no carry at any school / preschool / daycare / college / school bus stop, no carry at any sporting event, no carry anywhere inside and airport, no carry in bars or bar sections of restaurants, three-day waiting period on handgun purchases if you don't have a CCW, etc., etc.
So-called "Republican" RINOs in the Miami area are very anti-gun and lock up pro-gun legislation in committee despite overwhelming support in the House and reasonable support in the Senate. They won't even let the bills see a vote on the floor. This is going to continue on and on until the demographic of northern liberals from NY, MA, NJ, CT, PA and Caribbean immigrants swings the voting to the point where Dems control both houses... and then we will become just like every other leftist state. Mark my words... Texas is next.

One kid said, you had your chance. If there is another shooting,
it will be your fault. Ok let me get this straight. If the gov "bans assault" guns,
the next lunatic isn't going to fulfill his mentally deranged dreams because
the government "banned" assault guns? Got it
For that matter, why don't they just install no guns signs on every door of every school.
I cant comprehend the mentality of some people.
