Re: Ar 15 pistol length to carry with a LTCF?
I wouldn't worry about a muzzle device for a truck gun if you are worried about weight or length. I would use a thread protector (cheap and easy to find on Amazon in stainless steel or blued) so I can attach a muzzle device whenever I am at the range, but still keep the OAL down so it will fit into a bag easier.

Miniaturization is a catch 22- you have to give up something in order to make it smaller/easier to fit into a bag/lighter- i.e. using an Anderson Arms upper receiver that does not have a forward assist to make it narrower (give up some reliability for size), doesn't have a port door (KISS principle), and a flat top so you can use folding sights.Last edited by gun-bunny; February 20th, 2018 at 11:12 PM.

Re: Ar 15 pistol length to carry with a LTCF?
OP was about " carry" pistol. I maintain the AR15 is more of a liability than asset for "on-body" carry.
The discussion morphed into "trunk gun" and that's a different set of parameters.
The AR15 Pistol excels in that role.
Light, short OAL for quick response inside a vehicle, a metric crap-ton of ammo capacity, plenty accurate for defender/ mob use.
Bonus points for a bitchin' fireball and Bigass noise. Both are useful in dissuading a multi goblin mob.
Also it's easily camouflaged in something like this

Re: Ar 15 pistol length to carry with a LTCF?
Mine is a hair under 26" with the Blade set where it is. (7.5" barrel)
It could be longer or shorter by loosening the set screw and adjusting the "LOP".
Mine was built with emergency "indoor use" in mind, so no fireballs, please - that's bad for the drapes.
The PWS CQB comp works very well at eliminating/greatly reducing muzzle flash.

I just carry 20 or 30 of these to match the capacity of my AR and increase concealability. 1 in each pant pocket, 1 in each shoe, 10 under my top hat and the remaining 18 in kydex holsters affixed to the lining of my over-sized raincoat.

Very nice rig....I almost bought something similar a couple weeks ago for a grand but I just bought a second bike and need to pay it off before I buy another firearm.
