Default Middletown Twp. board meeting-gun control laws

Middletown Township, Board of Supervisors Meeting
On Tuesday evening, 2-20-2018, at 7:00 PM at the Middletown Township, Township Building off of Flowers Mill Road, the Middletown Township Supervisors will hold their monthly meeting and may again bring up gun control. I will be attending. I encourage all members to join me ESPECIALLY those who actually live in Middletown Township. Now, I have no positive information that the topic of gun control will in fact come up but I do suspect it will. Please join me in a show of numbers at this meeting.

I understand that, but they don't seem to fully grasp it. They also want to petition and exert heavy pressure of our state lawmakers to make changes, 2 of which are a ban on "assault" type weapons and a magazine capacity limit. In view of the current climate they need to hear opposition to these measures

What they don't grasp now, they will once served with a suit. That tends to bring about some reality...All talk...

Can't think of anything that has happened in Middletown township that would curry interest in bans and limitations. Sounds like some politicians want to appear pro-active in "protecting" soft targets. Don't forget...Middletown has a connection to Harrisburg via a resident past Lt Governor.

    Whoopee shit.

Even if all the borough council does is pass a resolution requesting that Harrisburg does something for the children, they might well be in violation of the preemption statute and, as a resident, you could file a private criminal complaint against each and every council member who voted for such, including the mayor.

§ 6120. Limitation on the regulation of firearms and ammunition.
    (a) General rule.--No county, municipality or township may in any manner regulate the lawful ownership, possession, transfer or transportation of firearms, ammunition or ammunition components when carried or transported for purposes not prohibited by the laws of this Commonwealth.
    (a.1) No right of action.--
    (1) No political subdivision may bring or maintain an action at law or in equity against any firearms or ammunition manufacturer, trade association or dealer for damages, abatement, injunctive relief or any other relief or remedy resulting from or relating to either the lawful design or manufacture of firearms or ammunition or the lawful marketing or sale of firearms or ammunition to the public.

That's exactly what they're saying, they want to be pro-active

Thanks for that, sounds like something to remind them of, if you know what I mean

Meeting this evening in Willistown Township was full of anti-gun people, each somehow also had a sob story about how firearms have impacted their life negatively. Asking the supervisors to also join with other townships to write a memo to all of the state and fed legislators asking for common sense control.

I made sure to remind the sups about preemption and also that their job reaponsibilities have zero to do with firearms. They have made their statement by spending a huge portion of the budget on police, thats enough of a “safety” statement as I would like to see.

My Township was 3 Repub sups until this past election, now down to 2. And the voter base is still slightly larger Repub. between R staying home and an insanely motivated bunch of Lefts, this chester county township is the front lines of the Dem takeover. Sad to see.

I grew up in Newtown Square and know Willistown very well. The dems are moving out of the city to turn beautiful Willistown into the toilet they turned Philadelphia into. Looks like all those cookie cutter townhomes on the south side of West Chester pike just west of Delchester Rd is where all the dems are landing in their endeavor to turn the place into a socialist wonderland.

The former control bunker for the Nike Missile site is just inside Willistown Twp on Delchester Rd and just misses the covered bridge on Goshen Rd. I remember the old woman that got arrested for shooting hawks on the west side of Delchester Rd. along West Chester Pike just east of Ridley creek when she leased out her property as a regulated game preserve. That property seems to have changed hands since then.

I use to shoot skeet on delchester rd, then they built that development below our target area (delchester/west chester pk)
Also remember sighting in our slug guns across the street at the reserve base, the servicemen would stand at the fence
    and watch.
