Default Please write your representatives today if you have not already done so.

Just a reminder, antis have been writing our Representatives like crazy this past week. Our representatives need to hear a counterpoint on gun control, and the 2nd. If you have already written your representatives..... thank you. If you have not, please do.

We’ve survived many hard times against the second. After Sandy Hook people were writing their representatives, getting involved, donating to gun groups, all of which needs to be done again.

We can not be passive hoping things work out. We can not be defeatist and not do anything because we think it’s all over. Everyone who wants to protect the 2nd Amendment for ourselves and future generations needs to step up now. Even if it’s only providing a counterpoint to our reps for anti gunners. It doesn’t matter if our reps are anti not, they need to hear from us.

We don’t want them receiving letters at a rate of 100 to 1 in favor of gun control. We can’t hope the NRA and other gun groups take care of this for us. We need to be the ones to step up and shape our own destiny, not let others control our destiny for us.

Please write your representatives today. Senators, Congressmen, and the Whitehouse. Let them know where you stand.

I sent this today to Ryan Costello:

I was frankly shocked to read in your latest Ryan's Report the following: "I have supported a number of commonsense and constitutional measures to reduce gun violence in society - from banning bump stocks to increasing and enhancing background checks to voting against concealed carry reciprocity measures - and I will continue to do so."

Please be aware this statement is NOT consistent with traditionally conservative Republican values. This is a feel good, knee-jerk reaction to a very sad occurrence which will have little or no actual effect on future incidents. It is typical of the rhetoric spouted out by Pelosi, Schumer, et al.

As a point of interest, I have many law enforcement friends at the local, state and federal levels who all agree with what I am saying. The answer to school shootings is not more gun control! This shooter in Florida was clearly well known by local and school authorities. He was visited by local sheriffs 36 times. He was brought to the attention of the FBI on at least one occasion in connection with threats to commit a school shooting. Everyone near him knew and said that he was a potential problem. How much more should private citizens have done?? But we are now supposed to believe that more gun control would have stopped this? So would prompt police action have stopped this when his troubling pattern of behavior was observed over a prolonged period of time. And even the most vocal 2nd Amendment supported would not have objected if police had removed any dangerous weapons from his possession, given his troubled history. No one wants weapons in the hands of the truly mentally disturbed.

But if he didn't have a firearm because of some new law but also did not receive appropriate mental health treatment, might he have decided instead to plow his car or truck through a crowd of students as they left classes? Or devised some other kind of deadly attack? What law will be passed to stop that? The answer is not new gun laws! Instead attack the root of the problem - mental health. This case in Florida should have been a no-brainer for authorities. How could they have botched this?

Most surprisingly, you say you oppose concealed carry reciprocity. Why should a person who is an upstanding and lawful member of society in Pennsylvania, and some 20 or 30 other states in these United States become a felon when he crosses the Ben Franklin Bridge into New Jersey? Does this really improve society in any way? Does this truly reduce crime in any way?? Does a person's drivers license become invalid when crossing the bridge? Marriage license? Other professional or personal licenses? So why limit the right to protect oneself from criminals just because they cross a bridge? Do the criminals obey the same laws? They have already decided to commit crimes punishable by sentences up to and including death! Why would anyone think one more law would stop them? I really thought we your constituents could count on you for better than the positions you are taking!

Since you have taken this stance, my family, most of my friends and I will NOT vote for you upon your re-election bid. In fact, we will work strenuously against your re-election through person to person appeals, telephone calls, contributions, etc. I would rather endure a stance like yours from a liberal Democrat in office than a Republican, so if your seat is lost - so be it! I don't see that as a big difference. I see little daylight between you and your Democrat opponents.

It is not necessary for you to respond to this letter. You have already made your position abundantly clear! Thank you!

    CALL OFFICES!

Call and tell them to oppose the mistakenly-named "Fix NICS" bill S. 2135 and to get HR 34 to President Trump NOW to end gun-free zones in schools so we can start getting trained protection for the kids.

They can easily delete or filter out our emails...and the Reps themselves won't even know they arrive most likely, but a flood of phone calls, they will notice.

    *Sen. Bob Casey (D) at (717) 231-7540

    *Sen. Patrick Toomey (R) at (610) 434-1444

    Call your local reps too!

Yesterday, I went off 5 letters:

    Good morning, Rep. <insert name>.

As we are seeing our own citizens and last week, our nation's children being assaulted by criminals who ignore laws and have no respect for human life, every single one of us are being assaulted by the most dishonest political group that exists in America, the anti-gun left. They are outright lying in the media about events, our leadership, and every single one of us law-abiding citizens who simply want to live free and protect our families.

We are hearing lies about the NRA, about guns and their capabilities, about the intentions of regular gun-owning citizens like me. They're pouring millions of funds into organizing, brainwashing and training our own children to revolt against the Constitution, as we saw in the well-scripted "lie-in" outside the White House this week. This anti-2A movement will pounce on victims and their families to recruit them into "the cause" every time there's a tragic event. They're ruthless and uncaring about people, they just want their agenda passed. Ronald Reagan had the right approach when reacting to tragedies: “We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.”

Now is precisely the time to fight back against this agenda and against the criminals using guns to murder themselves. Nearly all of these shootings are committed by criminals and mentally-deranged individuals who were affected by psychotropic drugs and were also able to take advantage of shortcomings in law enforcement and the background check system.

I agree with President Trump that we need to solve the shortcomings of the existing enforcement of laws, not make new laws to restrict citizens from protecting themselves and their families.

Another trait of nearly every mass shooting is that they occur in gun-free zones that were established by this anti-gun movement. While well-intentioned, maybe, the reality is that these gun-free zones only make killing and targeting our kids easier for a murderer. It has been proven time and time again that banning guns from any place actually creates a more dangerous venue because no one can be the protector. Now is the time to fix this. We need to allow willing and qualified teachers and staff to be trained and allowed to possess a firearm on school campuses to protect our children.

One of the greatest barriers to our freedom and ability to deter criminals is the lack of National Carry Reciprocity. Bill HR 38 that has been laying on desks for a year needs to be voted on and passed and National Reciprocity needs to be added into any and every gun bill proposed in Congress until it is passed. Americans’ rights to protection must not be infringed any longer.

I urge you to stay strong in the face of the attacks you’ll face for being on the right side of history and fighting for our freedoms. Do not let the anti-gun lunatics win because they scream louder. Do not let the media define the truth by repeating lies enough times to be accepted by the general public.
Joseph Goebbels famously said “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Sadly, it seems we have many in American politics and the media today who live by these words.

Instead we need to remember the words of Benjamin Franklin: “ They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security.”

Thank you for your continued service. Stay strong for us, and continue to be our voice for the truth and the defender of our freedoms. We elected you to do just this and we’re behind you and praying for your strength to do what’s right in the face of adversity.

    God Bless America,
    <siigned>

Called Toomey, Casey and Rep Seth Grove. Got through easily.

Be polite and encouraging. They already think we're "gun nuts".

(Perry is one of our biggest allies though)

Just called Toomey’s Allentown office. I stated no more additional gun control laws and get rid of the school zone gun ban because criminals don’t obey the law.

Ha, probably my fault. I had a list of polite demands:

*Vote on National Carry Reciprocity like the House did
*End Gun Free Zone Act in schools
*Don't vote for "fix NICS" bill
