Is it a rally or is it just like minded people hanging out on public property? Why does someone need a permit to exercise their rights anyway?

Oh that's silly---You're acting like we need permits to carry guns, build on our own property and to gather on public property. That would never happen in a free country....

I will most likely hang out with REPO on the steps. I just don't like giving a Police a receipt with ALL my info including make, model and SN.. maybe I will change my mind.. but for now Steps for me

i'm sure harrisburg has regulations for how many are allowed to gather before a permit is required. either that or it's to permit you to speak, carry signs and use bullhorns.

Edit: you guys are making this tough, i'll have to flip a coin to decide whether i stay outside or leave rifle home and go in.

IMO, it is essential to be inside.

The reason is that the goal of the rally is show size & strength of the voting block.

Lawmakers know what a large group is versus a small group. A large group extends up the staircase to the top balcony and spills into the 2 adjacent hallways. A small group is ignored, or worse, laughed at as a small, weak, powerless voter block.

If a bunch of people stay outside, you bring almost no benefit to the goal. You are not visible to the lawmakers, and any reporters inside. You may as well stay home, IMHO. Not saying that to be a dick, oh wait, yes I'm saying that to be a dick! :-)

I agree with this line of thinking. Additionally, if we're crammed elbow to elbow inside the building but there are only 15 people outside, which shot do you think will make the news?

    neither.
but if antifa shows up and breaks a bunch of windows, burns some cars and throws rocks at the responding officers, the news will cover how abusive the cops are.
