I could carry my polished nickel 1911. I have a paddle holster for that.
Probably harder to remove the paddle holster than my belt slide Kydex OWB I carry the Shield in.
The larger problem is that the 1911 is bigger than I am. LOL!

Seems a bit clusterfuckish and prone to having guns falling out of holsters. Not having been there, I just assumed you'd be walked to a locker and remove your sidearm from your holster, placing it inside.
retention, retention, retention. how do you poop or undress? unbuckle belt while holding firearm, unthread it and turn it over. i retain firearm, drop pants and rebuckle at new, lower height.
sounds just like the court house, except they don't make a scene and lock the floor down like at monroe cty.
i dont whip my junk out unless im fixin to use it... oh wait, what were we talking about again?

i'll have to check 3 mags, a knife and my sidearm.

    "retention".

Look at any rally where people carry just to carry who never do so otherwise.
You'll see any number of half-assed methods of carry and I envision someone with a "universal" nylon holster dumping the gun on the ground while undressing to get it off.
Maybe a non-issue, I just didn't expect to have to remove my holster.

Glad it was mentioned here ahead of time.

Since this is more of a "meet your elected officials" rally than a torches and pitchforks rally, carrying isn't really much of a "statement" aside from before and after when in public.

If have pocket change, will they hold that for me too? I hate having anything in my pockets.

wasnt there a guy who shot himself in the leg with a crappy revolver that then went off when police tried to empty it?
gettysburg iirc, year or two ago.

just like the car wash, auto mechanic or dealership. they'll hold your change but not return it.
i'll only have what i carry daily anyway.

we need to organize an actual rally though.

I'm in. Also got a buddy to join me and we're trying to get a few more from where he works in Carlisle.

My wife's boss was telling her Monday how great the D.C. march this past weekend was, how awesome to see young people getting incolved, ban and take away all guns. She's devoutly Jewish but apparently never heard of the Holocaust.

Hard to tell with the current widespread popularity of no floor covering and highly waxed floors.

I use a belly band with my 40 cal shield, do I simply remove the belly band with the shield left in it? Also, do you have a link for the paperwork that has to be filled out?
