Meanwhile their base is scratching their heads and looking towards socialists like Bernie and away from center Dems (if there is such a thing). Dems cannot win with 20% of their voters off the reservation to the left. Trump wants to win over independents by getting things done.

All he is saying is the loud mouth side has had 8 years to do absolutely whatever they wanted. So, since they could not get everyone to agree and pass it then, stop running your mouth and making tons of noise today. Basically, find real answers to the issues or shut up. Stop being a loud mouth touting common sense gun control and blaming everyone including him. That is what I have taken from it. I agree 100% with him.

The Port Arthur Mass shooting was in 1996. They had one at Monash University in 2002. Five wounded, two dead. Parliament banned the possession of some handguns.

They had a shooting in 2011, 3 dead, 3 wounded. Another mass shooting in Sydney, three dead.

We Americans had few mass school shootings before the Democrats turned school property in 1990 into Target Rich environments. If the Gun Free Schools act isn't working then a Gun Free America probably won't work too well either. Trying to get a Gun Free America would give some a license to go Social Justice Warrior on "the right" under the color of law, and maybe that is the whole point?

They still want the total ban, just are trying to get there more sneakily!

I've known democrats through my life and I'd say for the most part they are mean and spiteful people walking around with a victim complex or some sort of mental illness. They seek happiness through taking from others and they mean what they say and what they want to do. Republicans and our side need to toughen up a bit, stop playing nice and play to win.
This is it, exactly. They don't have a better place to be or better thing to do except stand in the streets and universities and make up elementary chants to try to drive our society into the mud of leftism which will be the end of this great experiment. Our responsibility in life and our higher moral values will be the downfall of conservatism. While it's said that we don't want to stoop to their level, I afraid we won't win the battle from the high ground. How come we don't have protest against gun free zones, unlocked school entrances , and lack of armed guards that haven't been protecting our precious children over and over, again? I don't really blame them for not wanting to arm teachers. Most teachers don't have the practical ability or the proper mindset to protect themselves, much less our helpless children. There are qualified individuals to do the job. As far as spending our taxpayer money on protecting our children, they're more worried about putting our money in their pockets. Thousands of years ago, our ancestors tried to protect the village from predators empty-handed and that was not effective until they used a defensive tool. Today, armed guards are our defensive tools for our villages. They want more gun laws in place, when what we need is more guns in place.
