PA person to person gun sale laws
I bought my Mossberg 835 in NC and have lived in PA for 4 years. since i have been in college i have not had any opportunities to use it and i wish to sell it.
What are the laws in PA conserning person to person gun sales. Do they had to be done at a shop or other facility? how are background checks done on buyers?
I am interested in selling the firearm since i have no need of it while in school.

Re: PA p2p gunn sale laws
Are you a PA resident? If so FTF sales of long arms do not require anything. Cash and go.

You might want to do a "Bill Of Sale" to the buyer. See LorDiego's post which has a very good one...................

It is always good to have the buyer bring a copy of their drivers license. It is good for record keeping on your end if the firearm is used in a crime and the ATF knocks on your door."Ya only need legs to kick ass baby boy" - Bartender in Feast III

Re: PA person to person gun sale laws
Definitely write down the info on his drivers license. This way you have made a good faith effort to assure he is a Pa resident.

Re: PA person to person gun sale laws
Just a quick question: does the term "long arm" include shotguns?
Also, on that bill of sale someone linked to, it has a statement about the buyer being 21. I thought the age limit for purchase/possession of rifles in PA was 18?
