Carrying in the workplace
I was just wondering if any of the members on this forum have ever CC'd in the workplace? If so, what is your recommended method of carry? (pocket carry, holsters, holster brands, gun brands, etc...)

Re: Carrying in the workplace
Ive carried a lot when I worked 3rd shift at a convenience store and also in an office environment.
Ive used standard IWB holsters such as a galco, but I also used a smart carry system, but I had it at the 3:00'oclock position like an IWB holster.
I recently got a pocket holster thats like a clamshell that I use for my little pocket 380 also.
I no longer work in these settings, but the one was a more imperative situation that I refused not to be armed in.

Yeah, y'all be careful answering this one! I know for certain my employer watches Internet activity. That said, in my current employment, HELL NO!
Previous employer not only allowed it, they made it easier for us by giving us a $500 annual stipend for 'personal safety equipment not normally covered under company policy'.
That was a great company. So great it was bought out by a competitor and then scuttled. They only wanted three of our recipes.

Re: Carrying in the workplace
I had carried while working a construction job.
When I started carrying, the company had no specific policy against it.
As time went by, the company adopted a policy of no firearms.
I continued to carry with as deep a concealment as possible. I opted for ankle carry.
The Lou Alessi ankle holster did not cinch tightly enough.
I traded down to a DeSantis Apache which did hold the P9 Covert securely enough to climb ladders, crawl through pipe chases, above ceilings and run after the roach coach for coffee.Opinions are like anal apertures. They all stink but mine.

Ugh I wish. I'd get shot before I made it past the metal detectors though.
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Although we will allow or customers to CC if they wish.www.Steelvalleycasting.com is your new home for coated bullets and custom ammo.

Re: Carrying in the workplace
I have not because there's a strict policy prohibiting it. I can't afford to be caught because they would terminate me, no question. I lock it in my vehicle safe daily otherwise I would have to go unarmed virtually all the time. What's funny is some years back when there was a big push to make sure no one had any "prohibited offensive weapons", they claimed they would search vehicles in the parking lot if necessary. Yeah....go ahead and call the cops on a hunch and have them search vehicles. Let me know how that works out for ya. Idiots. If they were able to legally search vehicles, they'd be shocked at how many replacements they'd have to hire. LOL!

Re: Carrying in the workplace
Nope. The handbook says no firearms on company property which I'm pretty sure they mean to include the parking lot. However, I do have my pistol bag with me every day and leave it in my car. Get a warranty and you can search my car. If it ever came to that point I wouldn't want to stay there anyway.
Now, being the IT person there have been times I've had to go there late at night for a server crash etc. Since at those times I would be the only car and person there at all I do carry a gun into the building. It's a pretty big building and honestly it's creepy as hell at night, dimly lit parking lot and partly surrounded by woods.
