Re: 81% Police Favor Training & Arming School Teachers & Admins to Protect Students
If they do a program for the schools like they do LEOSA it would work.
It would also make it affordable for all concerned.
LEOSA (in PA) involves annual background checks, annual training certification with the firearm that will be carried, registration of the carry firearm, and annual credentials issued by the state (sheriff, police).

Re: 81% Police Favor Training & Arming School Teachers & Admins to Protect Students
I had to deliver freight to just about every school in eastern Montgomery County over a period of 25 years starting in 1990. Over the years there were more and more barriers up preventing unauthorized entrance into the schools. I don't remember which ones had what for the most part but those barriers included a foyer which had locked inner doors and entrance through the main office and out another door into the school, buzzers at the front door that required a person to come and let me in. Those are two easy remedies for the problem.

Donald Trump likes the idea of teachers bearing arms in the K-12 classroom. “I will get rid of gun-free zones on schools — you have to,” the Republican nominee told a crowd at a campaign rally in Burlington, Vt., in 2016. “My first day, it gets signed, okay? My first day. There’s no more gun-free zones.”

Its one thing to arm teachers, but are they going to be able to pull the trigger if that moment comes? Often teachers have a former relationship with these shooters as students. I think there should be armed personnel at schools, just don't agree that teachers are the best people for that job.

Not the teachers themselves necessarily.
Core faculty would probably be more politically acceptable and possibly more practical.
The senior administrator staff members or faculty of similar standing.
The small inner core of administrators that run the school. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?
