ID a rifle
Hey all,
My aunt inherited her father’s collection and has tasked me with IDing and helping offload the firearms. I’m looking for some help to ID and get a ball park value. Any help would be appreciated. I don’t have any real infor other than the picture but can gather what I would need. I don’t live local to the firearms and am working jut off pictures as my aunt has 0 firearm knowledge really.
Rifle #1 A Mauser I believe.

Re: ID a rifle
Looks like a German Mauser Model 98.
Value could be hundreds to thousands depending on caliber and age. It looks like it is in good shape.
There should be a date on the receiver as well as the serial number.Last edited by Coops; February 12th, 2018 at 03:24 PM.

Re: ID a rifle
So far we have the Yugo above.
A Lithgow SMLE III* dated 1942
An M1 Garand
A Remington 1903-a3 dated August 1943 with a May 1943 Barrel and attached bayonet.

Re: ID a rifle
The Yugo is a Kar 98k Mauser in 8x57. Current street value is ~ $350 to $400, based condition presented in the photos.
The value of the other three depend on condition and other features. For example, the M1 Rifle could be USGI, or built by the commercial Springfield Armory, Inc., or by Century. If USGI, the value varies with manufacturer, S/N range, and degree of correctness at time of build.

Re: ID a rifle
Yeah, I don’t have any info on the M1 yet. The 1903-a3 has me excited as I was trying to restore one years ago( unsuccessfully) before I traded it away.

Re: ID a rifle
Are you going to post them on this site when you are ready to sell them? I might be interested in a few of them.
