Seriously, no one mentions an HK33 or Century C93 yet? I really want a C93. They're $750 tops. Only bad thing is the price of good mags.

Next choice for me would be the Galil Ace.

I kick myself for passing up the HK33 parts kits at Apex this past year. They were around $350 with a US barrel.
They needed a few minor parts, trigger box and guts, and of course the receiver and the work to build them, but i have all the tooling.

It just saves me from buying $80 mags lol

Thanks, you just made me want to buy the pistol version. I wonder if I can get just the lower, I've got an upper in need of a lower.

Yes. There are threads on ARFCOM several years long, with builds using those lowers.
I really like them a lot.

I'm a hard proponent for the Bren 805. Essentially, it's a Czech SCAR. Yes, the stock isn't great but it's far better than the SCAR's UGG boot. They shoot about the same but I feel the Bren is much smoother shooting. Both are absolutely capable rifles. I'd choose either one over any of the HK roller lock or AK variants simply because of parts compatibility and platform familiarity.
I'm only here for the wood c-rings.

The problem with the C93 is all to often the Century part.

How about a bolt rifle? I have two ARs, but sometimes I just like to shoot slow. That’s when I bring the Tikka t3 Stainless in .223. Very simple, light, accurate, low-fuss.
