Default Alternatives to AR's for shooting 5.56

I've been interested in getting something in 5.56 other than an AR type rifle. There doesn't seem to be a lot of alternatives. I'm really considering a CZ 805 Bren as it seems to be the most affordable with the options I want--folding stock, side charging handle, optic rail, options for front rails. I'm a left handed shooter and like right side charging handles. I also like the option of folding a stock (for no real particular reason other than it's more compact). SCARs are too expensive. Tavors seem OK, but are $400 more than an 805 I found. I like the looks of the SIG 556's, but a new rifle is just a few hundred dollars more than the used SIGs. Same with the Bushmaster ACRs. I'm not real crazy about the stock on the Bren 805, but I like everything else. So, does anyone know of any other alternatives on the market under $1,500 (the Bren can be had for a little more than $1,300 shipped)? Image below taken from an online photo.

Also, the SBR pistols with an ACR stock look great too (I really need to stay off the internet).

The Beretta ARX, the Galil Ace, or you can look for a used quality Beryl Archer or another AK pattern in 5.56.

Yes, but to shoot one properly requires a cigar, a black van with red spoiler and diagonal stripe, and a Godzilla suit.

Not sure how far away from the AR spectrum you want to be but there are the Wolf A1 piston uppers AKA the T91 which is the civilian version of the Taiwanese military rifle. Wolf is the importer on these as parts which are made by the same military contractor that produces the T91 for the Taiwanese military. They have a ton of cool features including a USA made CHF barrel and are priced right at $499.99 making for an affordable build at well under $1K for something different.

    They are also coming in 12", 14.5", a d 16" flavors now.
