Type of firearm when hunting
Hi, I'm new to hunting and had some questions regarding which type of firearm is allowed for different game species. The Spring bearded turkey season is coming up and was wondering which type of firearm can be used. Can I use an AR15 with 5.56 and a 30 round mag? or is it something like only pump shotguns with a 3 round at a time limit? what about deer?

Use a shotgun for turkey (and aim for the head) it will work for deer too (but aim for the shoulder). If you are in a zone where you can shoot a rifle for deer I would suggest a scoped bolt action.

It sounds to me like you have not attended the Hunter and Trapper Education Course. If this is the case, do yourself a favor and take the class. Violating game laws in PA is a quick way to get some heavy fines and possibly have your firearm/vehicle/property confiscated.

It's kind of like The Purge with deer, they can use anything but explosives. So I suggest LVL3a or better full body armor, That Dragon skin stuff is some of the best, kind of hard to find in blaze orange.

Here is a link to the hunting digest. It should answer your questions.

What they said. Technically you can't get a license without taking it. I haven't heard of that being enforced with an adult before though. Lots of good info there.
To answer your specific question, spring gobbler is shotgun only. Manually operated or semi and plugged to three rounds.
