Gonna have to call it a draw for record bacon consumption.
I just looked it up and it was LAST October when we had a confirmed 14 lbs (possibly slightly more) of bacon eaten. I'd be curious to see the total number of bacon munchers to see if the bacon to mouth ratio was significantly different between the two dates. LOL
20 people today - 14 lbs of bacon consumed. Damn.

What a great day. It was semi-crappy early on, with it having rained last night, and having some intermittent drizzle early on, but all in all, it wasn't anything to complain about - I've eaten bacon while it was raining steady, so this was great - and it got nicer as the day went on.

Great big thanks to Pennlineman and "TankGurl" (I think that's close - I only know her real name) for being the heart and soul of getting the shoots going this year - always there early to open the gates and get everything started - and for being the bestest bacon cooker ever! All so very much appreciated, as I worried I wouldn't be able to take on full duties of running the show this year because of my work schedule. I want everyone to know that they made it possible to keep the shoots going by agreeing to "share" the burden of organizing. Ultimately, they did more than their fair share by being there early and by "closing up" on the days when I had to leave early to go to work. Send some rep their way - it is well deserved!

Also deserving of some rep is DucatiRon, for the load of pumpkins - last year, and again today! Holy hell, that would cost a small fortune to have to buy that many pumpkins!
(and thank you to everyone who helped clean up after the slaughter!)

Beyond that, there is appreciation for those who volunteer to help set up and tear down. Sure makes things a lot easier when everyone pitches in. Thanks!

I had a really good time today. A lot of the same old assholes and a few new faces. Always cool meeting new people. I saw a lot of smiles all around, so I think the "spirit" that started these shoots is still alive - guns, bacon, and friends - awesome.

Oh, and my phone is on it's death bed, so feel free to joke about how long it will be before I post pics, but really - I didn't take any today.
