When one of our cats was a little kitten, I would put him on my shoulder and walk around with him sitting up there - upright - like a parrot.

Then one day when he was grown, I turned to open the closet door at the bottom of the stairs that lead to the second floor - the closet where we kept his feather toy on a string up on the top shelf so he wouldn't tear it up - his favorite toy in the world that he knew was kept up there, out of his reach. (He could open that closet door and would sit there looking up, trying to figure out how to get TO it)

He ran up about 5 steps behind me, then jumped onto my shoulder without me knowing it was going to happen.
Shocked the crap out of me and when I "jumped", he latched on to keep from falling off! OOOOOWWWWW!!!

Mrs EM thought it was funny.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Any time a cat attacks its owner, it is fucking hilarious. Doubly so if it causes real injury. Triple points for an infection.

Ok, I got off my ass and started changing and modifying a few steel targets.

May weld some on Sat after I instruct plumbers.
I cut off the mild steel after someone put a rifle round through one at the Central shoot.
This was motivation to reface to targets with AR500

I'll bring some bacon and try to bring a couple friends. I think we need new target holders.

Cindy and I will be bringing cooking stuff for the bacon and what ever else. Steel targets to make sure the steel range is full. Targets and other stuff for for the bullseye shoots. I may need help with the bullseye shoot depending on how many participate. Be prepared for both rimfire and centerfire in case we don't have enough for both classes. This happened last time for rifle. I'll be there around 7 to open the gate and set up the ranges if anyone wants to show up early the help is always much appreciated. If any RSO wants to do the safety briefing that would also be appreciated, one less thing I got to do.

I'm going to keep up the competitive shoots for next year as some seem to really enjoy this part. I'm going to introduce some new courses of fire to keep things exciting. So far the pistol and turkey shoots seem most popular. But I'm going to eliminate the rimfire/centerfire aspect. It's spreading out the participants too much. Future matches will be one or the other.

Looking forward to seeing you guys.

    Gratuitous jailbait bacon nudes:

There's half a shoulder split into 1 1/2" slabs, and in the curing bath. 8.5 lbs (the 8 lb 11oz includes plate) will cook down to about 6 lbs, and I'll bring along about 2lbs depending on final yield.

A shoulder doesn't make nearly as pretty of bacon as a belly, but for how cheap a whole shoulder is and how much I liked pulled pork, half the shoulder becomes destined for baconland.
