Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
I generally carry an LCP, but it bounces around when I shoot it (It's tiny) & I feel a little under-gunned with it. I understand just the presence of a pistol to a bad guy is generally enough, but I want to carry a revolver. Is there anyone here who carries a revolver, and if so, which one? Thanks!

Re: Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
I have a Ruger SP-101 .357, SP-101 .327 Fed Magnum, LCRx 9mm, S&W 686 PC and an S&W Governor in my carry rotation.
Of all my revolvers, the Ruger .357 gets carried most often. It's 5 rounds and is light enough for carry, but heavy enough to counter muzzle flip. I usually practice with 38 special, but carry .357.

Re: Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
Any of the J frame 5 shot .357s are good.
Smith & Wesson and Ruger being my top choices.
Taurus is ok also if you're on a tight budget.
Hammerless is best for snag free CC draw, but if you're old school (like me) and prefer an exposed hammer that's ok too.
If you go hammerless and find the grip is too short, then change it out for a full size Hogue grip.
If .357 is too much recoil then carry the high end .38 self defense rounds. How can you have any cookies if you don't drink your milk?

Re: Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
If I were buying for myself it would most likely be be a Ruger LCR in .357 and I would carry with 38+P. The triggers in those are excellent and the extra weight of the .357 model makes shooting .38 special comfortable as compared to a S&W 642 Airweight but much lighter to carry as compared to a SP101.
If money wasn't an option I really really like the Kimber K6s. Yeah yeah Kimber well the ones I own have been excellent and the K6S is a Hell of a great looking, carrying and shooting revolver.Last edited by Hodgie; February 10th, 2018 at 03:55 AM.

Re: Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
I used to carry a TCP, but after several problems with it, went to a Taurus 85 ultralight. 38 special. Carry +P. Less kick than the TCP or little pocket guns. I carry in a pocket holster, just a little more profile than the TCP, and it always goes bang when you pull the trigger. If it doesn't, I know I can just pull the trigger again.

Re: Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations
I carry an SP-101 .357
It seems a bit heavy when you first start carrying it, but I don't even notice it anymore. Can also be used to break out your window if your car is submerged, or anywhere else a heavy chunk of steel would be useful.

There are advantages in carrying a pistol rather than a revolver...have you considered a Glock 43 sized carry piece?
