Personal Carry Revolver Recommendations

I recently bought a Smith 66-8 with a 2.75" bbl. I liked the fact that Smith had brought back the K frame and reinforced the forcing cone so that it could better withstand magnums. I also like how the lockup had been re-engineered so that a full length ejector rod could be used in an under 3" gun.

I have not been able to carry it yet. I am having a bit of difficulty finding the correct holster online. I also want to try a couple different grips and probably a fiber optic front site.

I really enjoy shooting it though, especially with federal 158 gr magnums. Feels great to fire. Not uncomfortable at all, stout though.

I love my ruger sp101 in 357 with snub nose barrel, I am impressed with how accurate I am with it being a snubby, yes its a bit heavier than others but that helps with absorbing recoil when shooting it.

Love my LCR. Carries very well and has a really good Trigger for a DAO gun.

I often carry a model 60 heavy stainless 357 2 1/8” in an ankle holster in the winter
Or a S&W 9mm shield pistol or a Glock 19 but the revolver most often

.38 +P in a S&W Model 442...keep it simple, don't feel undergunned.

I am seeing more and more the advantages of a revolver over a semiauto based simply on the pace at which individual states and cities are moving to restrict magazine capacities and even numbers of rounds in a magazine. For sure, New York where seven rounds are the limit and and ten round mags......you can find yourself in violation by simply crossing the border to go to dinner. How silly is it that you have to stop and removed several rounds before crossing the border. As if those rounds are the difference between you being a felon or not. I have a Ruger Security Six but that is too large and cumbersome for a conceal carry.

Mag limits are not the only problem if you cross into NY or NJ.

.I have a 66-2 in 4" although I rarely carry it except in the woods.
Im actually just loaded some .357s for it tonight.
I've read that the early K's don't like full .357s as a steady diet.
I do have 1600 .38 casings as well so might work up something using those.

When I'm not carrying a 1911, I carry a S&W 686, an L-frame revolver with a 4 inch barrel and 7-shot capacity. Always loaded with .357 magnum rounds, and with at least two speedloaders, but sometimes up to four if it's jacket weather and I have the available pockets.

Keep in mind that I typically open carry in warmer weather, so it might be too bulky for you. But, if that's not an issue, it's a dream to shoot.

I've got a lightweight S+W revolver .38Spl +P thats also called a bodyguard.
It has a built-in laser.
I carry it IWB appendix, strong side.
My tubby gut provides ample coverage.

Not always true, but revolver reliability is legendary and they are immune to "Limp-wristing" issues.

That's my EDC unless I head towards a higher liability area.
Then the Glock .40 comes out
