    Default monroeville gun show

    Hi

I went to the Monroeville gun show last Saturday. I took my 8 year old son, he loves guns. We walked past the NRA tent and purchased our tickets and went to the door. They had huge signs everywhere saying no loaded weapons in the building. The constables then asked each person if they were carrying anything. I had my son and didnt want to set a bad example so I said yes. I had to go to a table that 2 other constables sat at, they made me take my pistol outside and unload. They then straped it so I couldnt reload with a wire tie.We then were allowed to enter the show. I wanted to see a holster maker that i thought would be there and my son wanted to see a barret 50 cal so we went. This will probably be the last show I attend there. I just dont understand how you cant carry at a gun show.

Welcome to almost every gun show held in the last 20 years.

The reason you can't carry is because dumb asses have discharged their weapons and put holes in ceilings as well as PEOPLE, so now the insurance people say "NO LOADED GUNS".

Here's a question... if you were "going to see a holster maker", why was your gun loaded? Were you planning to unholster and try it for fit while loaded?

I can say with absolute certainty that not everyone at the Oaks show visits the zip-tie station on the way in.

Though I have to ponder like Emptymag - if you're planning to check out holsters, wouldn't you already have that gun empty?

There's another possible scenario I hadn't considered initially.
Loaded or not, carry guns must be zip tied upon entry.
The zip tie makes it a pain in the ass to try a holster.

Or put it back in your holster. There is no law that prevents you from removing the tie with your pocket knife once you walk away from the table.

BTW, the Washington County Gun shows do not require you to disarmed.

For that reason, the Washington County Gun show is the only show in the SW PA area that I will attend.
I try my hardest to not support ANY organization, store, restaurant, etc... that does not allow me to carry.
Tomorrow's battle is won during today's practice.
