Thanks everyone for the replies! I'm a female by the way. I'm going to take all these options into consideration. The only problem with this whole residency thing is when I was taking care of my nana who then lived in Staten Island at the time. I was up there for a few months and got pulled over because my tail light was out. The officer told me I had to switch over my tags and dl because I was a NYC resident which I was not nor planning to be. I don't know if he misunderstood what I told him but this is why I want to make sure I don't run into this problem now especially since I have my permit as I did not at the time.

    ...

And as I recall, Phila is one of those that does not follow said law.

Bucks County is a short drive from Bridesburg.

Please Note: The poster was issued an infraction for this post.

Are you a Republican or a Democrat? Democrats do well in Bridesburg, Republicans usually move in a day or two. Lots of white girls with black guys.

Just remember you can’t carry into NJ or NY.

Unless you become a police officer somewhere.

I'm confused, are you carrying a VA resident permit with a NY drivers license?

She didn't say she *got* a NY DL, she said the cop (incorrectly) told her she should.

Sounds like you probably told him far more than actually necessary.

As to your original question, I would recommend getting your PA License to Carry Firearms. While the chances of it being enforced are slim, the reality is that the federal Gun Free School Zone law effectively means "reciprocity" doesn't really exist. You're only exempted from the GFSZ if you have a license from the state the school is in. So, if you're going to be in PA for an extended stay, spend the $20 and get a PA LTCF. As a non-resident of PA you have the luxury of being able to choose what sheriff you use to apply, so pick on of the easy ones that's most convenient to you.
