Default Would You Shoot This Pistol?

I have this Swiss Sig P210-6 that I bought around 1995 or so. Its test target is dated Nov 1982 and the best I can tell it has not been fired since then. There is no powder smell, no residue that I can see. I bought it out of Canada and it is not import stamped at all. I paid the going price for it back then and just kept it in the safe. As I get older I start to think about what I'm going to do with my stuff and am starting to change my way of thinking. It might be worth more NIB but if it's still in the safe on my last day value has no meaning to me. Now I know it's not going to be as much fun to shoot as the semi-auto rifles are but it is supposed to be a very accurate, well built machine and should work well. I'm leaning towards breaking its cherry, any thoughts?

You absolutely shouldn't fire that gorgeous Sig P210!!!!

You should bequest it to me in your will - so I'll fire it in memory of you....

You could shoot it and then sell it for many thousands of dollars. Or, don't shoot it and sell it for many more thousands of dollars. Your choice.

If it were mine, I'd shoot it. The P210 is one of the finest 9mm handguns ever made. I've shot one once and look forward to shooting one again someday.

LOL, that is funny. Who I leave them all to is another question to be answered. I was thinking of a will exchange with other people of similar age...we could leave each other our stuff and he who lives the longest gets the toys.

I would sell it because collectors will pay a premium for it in unfired condition. Then, I would use some of the money to either buy an original in shooter condition or buy the new one. I would have a hard time shooting it knowing doing so was the equivalent of burning a grand or two.

Shoot a box thru it to satisfy the desire, then clean it thoroughly. If a potential purchaser accusatorily says it's been fired, of course it has. How else is a test target accomplished?
