7 years here and you still think like that?

I used to be of the same mindset. Then I saw the error of my thinking after reading of one instance after another of police putting the screws to armed drivers - and worse.

Just once, I'd like a cop to put themselves in our shoes.

I think they tried, but somehow got confused and started shooting dogs instead of cats.

It happens when a out of state or retired cop goes to NJ or NYC carrying under LESOA.

    ^lol @ EM's post^

i would certainly file a complaint and start remembering your papers. first thing i do after putting vehicle in park is dig for my papers.

now... if only someone pulled over the swiftwater marked patrol car that had a headlight out for over 2 weeks....
or the car i had in front of me one day which only had a third brake light which was then followed (as in one pulled onto the roadway by chance and wound up behind them, in front of me) by an officer but not pulled over.
There is no way to make it out alive...

The PD's that I used to work with, at shift change the cops were required by policy to check all lights before leaving the station. I wonder how many other PD's still do that?

I have smarter shoes than that...
If the officer has sufficient disdain for me to take and dissemble my firearm, I wouldn't expect him to be particularly respectful with it, and possibly worse.

Here's a photo of my H-K USP. Look how fragile the tabs are that fit into the slide. Force it together wrong, and you have a useless HK paperweight. Would you want an officer that has never seen one before, and doesn't like you tearing it apart?

I don't know him either. Therefore, since I also want to go home safely, maybe the officer should hand his weapon over to me during the traffic stop.

SW Shields are cheaper than ever. Maybe it's prudent to keep an extra one in your vehicle so you have "something" to hand over to LEO without being completely disarmed.

Maybe you should have a more robust firearm, like a Glock.

Maybe this will be the dumbest question: how many cops have been killed/ shot by someone who volunteers to inform in advance before they shoot that he/ she has an LTCF and firearm in their cars/ etc.....? Approximately? If....almost none or none, either those cops were fake/ fraud/ or they were waiting a reason to bully/ shoot the op if he gave/ acted wrongly. That incident makes me nervous, so if We got stop, do I should inform them or not? When I got my ltcf( philly), there was a written paper that suggest to inform officers.

Doesn't the PSP have a less than stellar safety record with Glocks? I wouldn't want anyone shot by an ND in the process of an officer fiddling around with my firearm.

What if his wife was in the car?
