New M&P 380 Shield
Well it looked promising until I saw they added a ridiculous grip safety, but hey the manual safety is optional.
The 9mm Shield is one of my all time favorite pistols but this looks like a swing and a miss to me and I bet S&W removes that grip safety within the 1st year of it's release or else they have themselves a big swing and a miss with most concealed carriers.

If thumb safety is optional then I guess it becomes a Springfield but 380 is not for me.

I thought the target market were people with weak hands, elderly, women, etc. who had problems racking the slide. Not for me but serving a portion of the market that will appreciate it

Not a bad idea but agree the grip safety is just out of left field

Grip saftey blew it right off my have to get list. and if S&W wanted to alienate Glock owners they totally did it with their new POS 380. JMO/MDT

Re: New M&P 380 Shield
I think most shield owners would prefer *anything* over the articulated trigger safety.
looks like less of a POS than the bodyguard .380, which isn't saying much.

Re: New M&P 380 Shield
But why a pistol of that size in 380? You can get he exact same size in 9mm.
Wheaties aren't made out of the same stuff today as they were 40 years ago.
