Default AT&T Donating to Anti 2nd Amendment Groups

    I've switched to Patriot Mobile.

I also took the opportunity to dump my iPhone and switch to Android when I picked a Samsung Galaxy S8+ phone. It has the face unlock just like the iPhone X does.

And today I got this in my email from AT&T.

    I think I'll answer it.

This is a survey from canceling my AT&T service. There's a GUID in the URL that I am sure is linked to my identity.

Here's the backstory on AT&T's donation behavior:

They donate to Planned Parenthood and gun control groups.

I dumped them years ago, paying half for the same package.

Good for you for standing up for principles instead of just trying to save money.

Thanks for posting all this. I do not support businesses that work against my interests if I can avoid it. I appreciate learning about this kind of thing.

Update: I'm now in month 2 and I am LOVING this service.

Mostly I just love the switch to a Samsung Galaxy 8+... there's some apps I sideloaded on to my phone which Apple will not allow in the store or the developer didn't fool with making an iOS version. One of them is a note-taking app that works with Emacs (only coder nerds here knows what that is) and it's amazing.

The Google Voice dictation on Android is definitely better than Siri. I find myself talking instead of typing instead. My phone goes to roaming when I'm in the train tunnels (only AT&T works underground)... but I have made up for that by installing CastBox and set it up to push new podcasts and store them on my phone. I already download my music in to my phone and avoid streaming it.

I'm kinda spoiled though since I'm in Philly. Closer to the western mountains you really only get like 1 or 2 carriers that have a loud signal, the others are crap. That happened to me on AT&T as well, and the way I would get around that is to drive to someplace that has wifi like McD or Starbucks and make a Skype call instead which comes in clear.
