Typically people buy a 30 caliber a pistol caliber and a 22 can.

From your first post saying 9mm, 300Blk, 12ga:

    9mm, I would bump up to 45ACP:
Rugged Obsidian or Dead Air Ghost45. That has you covered if you decide to go to 45 at some point and makes 9mm as quiet or better as already stated.
Some can take 300Blk subs (only). So if never plan to suppress a full power super sonic rifle round, you may not need a rifle can.

300Blk, any of the brands and models named already or another 4-5 not named.
Most will take up to a 300WM at XX" of barrel (18-20"avg). May as well plan ahead and pick one that is over built. You wont pick up any noticeable weight, so dont think it will be another 1lb of mtl to make up for it.
What you need to decide is:
-direct thread or muzzle device attachment
-weight/material (see cost) Im personally not a fan of aluminum tubed 308/300WM cans, just my opinion
-sound reduction from testing found online (dont take the numbers to heart, use them as a comparison tool from can to can for reference)
-cost (buying it once, why save $150-200 over a 22oz can vs a 12oz can)
Thread all your barrels (if not already threaded, buy $100+ proprietary muzzle devices for each weapon you want to make shushed, and/or buy thread adapters to add muzzle devices to then attach the can or said muzzle mount (my 100% least recommended option due to tolerance stacking)

    12ga - SilencerCo Salvo

I would get a 22lr can as well.
They may be dirty and chore to clean, but they the most fun to shoot. Hands down.
Its may be the cheapest to shoot, but it has nothing to do with that.

So there if someone wanted the minimum number of silencers to cover all the bases from 22LR to 12G. How many and which ones would you recommend?

    Worst case scenario, 4
    22lr
    9mm
    300BO
    12G

    Which ones do you recommend?

Minimum is 2. First three are covered by multiple options. My own Griffin Armament Optimus covers the first three (and I shoot all three out of it including 5.56) but does not do .45. SilencerCo makes a similar suppressor (Hybrid) that I considered for a while that goes up to .45ACP.

    Shotgun will be its own.

This isn't a recommendation... There are advantages to dedicated platforms, especially between rimfile and centerfire, and then again to your rifle rounds, but to answer that question, you can do it with just 2.
