I have no experience with either, but will recommend Black Hat Training Corps, who also do their classes at Mifflin.

Thanks, what was your shooting level prior to the course?

Mifflin is a great course and now that it has been redone, its a lot cleaner and wide open. I did this event with BHTC and the guys not only were very good instructors but made the entire weekend a great learning experience and one I still look back to and use the notes I took then even today. I shoot at NHRPC which is now at 700 yds.

I am thinking of taking anther course and would like to bring my 50 along for shits and giggles.

My shooting level, I’d say in the grand scheme of the shooting world, was a relative newbie at the time I took Ghost’s LRP I class. I’m 45 and have been shooting some my whole life but it was never my main hobby. Never been a hunter even though I grew up and still live in the sticks. Never in the military so no training there either. In the last 10 years I’ve been acquiring guns, learning as much as possible and getting addicted to shooting. I got real interested in long range shooting a few years ago and bought a Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. The range I belong to only has 300 yards so that’s as far as I’ve ever shot. Last year I started shooting at the range in our once a month sniper shoots which is just a friendly Sunday morning competition but it’s fun and good practice. I’ve done real well in those shoots. I did also set up my rifle myself, have a good understanding of how my optics work and how to use a good ballistics app. I have an engineering background so the geometry, physics and all that involved in long range shooting makes sense to me. I can’t say that all the students showed up that day with all the necessary tools, knowing much about ballistics or exactly what all the knobs on their scope do, but the Ghost staff was damn sure that everyone learned and succeeded by the end of the two days. On the other end of the spectrum were very experienced students taking the class yet again. I now feel totally confident in at least knowing what I need to do, just need lots of practice now.

I can’t say enough good about Guy and his crew. Besides meeting the goals of the class, learning lots and finally shooting out to 1000 yards I had a blast. I’m really looking forward to going back.

I do know that the Rockwell Tactical class is taught by a Green Beret sniper and that they use a 1100 yard range, soon to be 1500 yards.

Distance is not that important to me, more concerned with the teaching to get myself there. Currently only shoot 200 yards and don't wanna sign up for a class that assumes I can already shoot well at 500-700yd

Any respectable training organization will have a beginner level class and instruct you in the fundamentals first, starting at closer ranges and moving back as they see you grasping the concept.
