Opinion on CC at Arbitration Hearing
My girlfriend is going into an arbitration hearing for a Med Mal case.
The arbitration is being heard by a judge but held at the offices of the opposing council. She and the Dr will be sworn in.
Is this a court? Can I CC? What makes a courtroom?
I'd like to stay legal. I don't need to carry, but I'll be in Scranton!!!!!!!!
PS: Please pray for a good outcome for my girl. This is one of those cases that slipped thru the cracks. Some people slip and fall and get a million dollars. She will get almost nothing even though she was surgically fuck up and almost died. She can expect hospitalizations now for the rest of her life. She has a go bag packed at all times. Thanks for your thoughts. With great power comes great responsibility....

Re: Opinion on CC at Arbitration Hearing
Legal definition of court facility, contained in the statute prohibiting weapons in same:
"Court facility." The courtroom of a court of record; a courtroom of a community court; the courtroom of a magisterial district judge; a courtroom of the Philadelphia Municipal Court; a courtroom of the Pittsburgh Magistrates Court; a courtroom of the Traffic Court of Philadelphia; judge's chambers; witness rooms; jury deliberation rooms; attorney conference rooms; prisoner holding cells; offices of court clerks, the district attorney, the sheriff and probation and parole officers; and any adjoining corridors.
In my opinion. I am not a lawyer.

Why you throwing shade on Scranton like it's Chicago or something?
What part of the “West Side” do you call home?

Sorry.. I meant no offense. I don't get to Scranton much so I shouldn't be so judgmental......
I had hoped for more advise on this issue. I guess I'll play it safe and not CC there. Just habit to carry. My gut feeling however is that it would be legal to do so since it's in a lawyers office. With great power comes great responsibility....

Why not OC, if there is no signage?

Re: Opinion on CC at Arbitration Hearing
I wouldn't risk sabotaging the GF's case by doing anything that might alienate the arbitration judge, and that would include carrying a weapon, sporting a political badge, wearing facial piercings, dressing too informally, drinking a beer in the back of the room, or doing anything else that you might reasonably expect would incite opprobrium among those with prejudices.

I think I agree... The importance of this day to her is well above the importance of me CCing. I think I knew this but was looking for a little confirmation from my peers.
I guess I'll take out my facial piercings and cover my "lock her up" tat on my neck......... Just kidding. I'm look about as conservative as one could be.
