40-9 barrel only with 9mm mag; all rounds fed and extracted but weren’t thrown far.

40 barrel, 40 mag but ejector, extractor and bearing replaced with 9mm versions, (the ejector is a #336); top round in a fully loaded mag contacted the ejector but all rounds fed and extracted with decent force.

40-9 barrel with 9 mm mag and all 9mm internals, might as well be a model 26. 150 various rounds without issue. IMO carry ready.

A good mix actually. Federall, American Eagles, Tula (steel) and as far as HPs go Independence and Hornandy.

The tests with 40 caliber magazines and internals were just to satisfy my curiosity. My intention was to swap all internals to 9mm from the get go. Im 100% satisfied with how its running after doing that. I previously got another great deal on a thousand rounds of 9 mm hollow points so I can practice with what Im going to carry without breaking the bank.

I may swap my two HD guns (both Sig 220s) to my G17 and G19 so Ill have mag compatibility with my upstairs, downstairs and carry guns. Ill just keep the appropriate size mag in the pistols but load a bunch of G17 mags for back ups.

The reason I ask is the manufacturer recommends avoiding 115gn and using 124 and higher for reliability of feeding. Couldn't remember if I had mentioned that.

I’m sure you did. My fmjs are mostly 115. HPs are 147

Which manufacturer? Glock, or a particular brand of conversion barrel?

Sorry, My bad. It's a statement from Lone Wolf

"When dealing with 9mm conversion barrels, some shooters may be affected by the poor performance of low powered 115 grain ammunition causing a Failure To Eject (FTE). A good example of ammunition that is “most likely to fail” is Winchester White Box (WWB). This rare failure is too low of a percentage to make it an issue, however it is one we are well aware of."

Thanks for clearing that up. Yes, that little caveat came with my Lone Wolf conversion barrel. However, I read that as avoiding low-powered 115s, not 115s. I shoot mostly 115s (my own loads). Never a problem. I think Lone Wolf is addressing the conversion barrel is still using the original recoil spring which is calibrated to .40S&W, and low-powered 9s can introduce a fail occasionally. Note they say (in effect) it is barely statistically remarkable.

    .

tried changing over my 27 . barrel, extractor , ejector

    became a jam-o-matic

back to 40 runs like a champ....

glock 23 just a barrel change = zero issues
