Insulated Rubber Boots For Hunting

So, if we are talking early to late deer season, what would you suggest for insulation as far as 400grain, 800 grain, 1600 grain or 2400 grain? I know 2400 is the warmest but want to wear them let's say three season if I want them in spring as well.

Thoughts?

I have 1000gram lacrosse boots and they seem to work great for days that I was sitting, and for days I was driving. Just adjust sock version and amount for each. Granted, I think the coldest it got for me was ~20 area.

To be honest, I bought em without even thinking about the sock issue. I bought em the same size as my normal boot, and have no issue wearing thick socks with em.

Yeah that’s my problem. I wear a 10 and if I get an 11 I feel it will be huge! The boots are ankle fit so I know 10!may feel snug. I’m confused.

A good salesperson would know how different brands fit and should answer your question.

I had bought many military boots from an online store, and the owner gave me sizing advice for each brand. Unfortunatley, he does not sell hunting boots.

I wear a 10. I'm tempted to get an 11 in 800 then I can double up if necessary and if not double up thin socks. Seems an good in between but then worry they may be too big?

I won't buy footwear online unless it's 100% free to return - and even then, it's not really worth the hassle.
I have to try them on - it's the only way to know how they feel. There's more to it than getting your foot to slip inside. The comfort and support can only be assessed by trying them on.

The only online ordering I've done is to order more of something I found in a store, after determining it was the right fit.

Sizes vary between brands, and even between styles of same brand sometimes.

Wish I could offer something constructive regarding what type to buy, but I've never had a problem buying inexpensive boots.
The ones I'm wearing now for snow removal work came from Kmart of all places. Plenty warm and dry and they only cost $20 on clearance. I bought 2 pair - wore first pair for at least 4 winters, and just pulled out the second pair today because the originals seem to have formed a small crack in the rubber that let some water in. Gonna seal it up with adhesive caulk and see how much longer I can wear them! LOL!

I hear you. Will never know if insulation is enough until you use them that's another issue.
