Mossberg 590a1 vs Remington 870

I’m bias, I’ve owned about six 590s & a couple 500s over the years. Now I just have one 590a1 & a 590 shockwave, just because I don’t like having tons of the same gun.

I much prefer the top safety, plus for an 870 it would have to be an older one, as I am wary of current product quality from Remington, and that is a shame.

Mossberg. I don't like the loading gate on the 870 and the safety is better on the Mossberg for a left eyed person such as myself.

I've got a three 500s, one with a 28" barrel and normal stock, one with an 18.5" breacher barrel and Shockwave bird's head grip (unapologetically tacticool and entirely unpractical, but fun), and another with a 20" rifle sight barrel and extended mag.

I've also got a 590 (not A1) with ghost ring sights.

I do have two 870s, both are 20 gauge, one has a youth stock and is setup for defense (wife struggles with full house 12 gauge), and the other is an old large frame Wingmaster. Can't say I didn't give the 870 a try, and I'll keep the ones I have, I just like the 500s more.
